| The Maine International Trade Center is Maine’s
center for international business assistance. Formed in 1996,
the Trade Center provides technical assistance and trade counseling,
import and export leads, international credit reports, workshops,
coordinated trade missions and trade shows, and many other
useful services to help Maine companies seeking to succeed
in international markets.
The Trade Center has risen to the challenge of serving Maine’s
business community throughout the state with the establishment
of three offices: its flagship location in downtown Portland;
its Bangor office servicing Eastern & Northern Maine and
housing the Canada Desk for Canadian trade and NAFTA issues;
and its Lewiston office covering Maine’s Central/Western
regions and is located in the heart of the French speaking
region of Maine.
The Maine International Trade Center offers global exposure
to Maine’s small and medium sized businesses. It has
led trade missions to Europe, Latin America, and Asia and
participated in world class trade shows such as CeBit - Germany,
JEC-France, the North American Lifestyle Show- Japan, the
European Seafood Show – Belgium.
With a team of highly skilled professionals speaking five
foreign languages, the Trade Center is Maine’s leading
source for global trade information.
It is the Mission of the Maine International Trade Center
to promote the expansion of Maine’s economy through
increased international trade in goods and services, and related
activities.
