Discover The New Europe with the Maine International Trade Center
On May 1, 2004, 10 new countries joined the European Union. The largest expansion in European Union history welcomed countries from Central and Eastern Europe and grew the population of the EU to 450 million – establishing the largest single market in the world.
Three years later, Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) continue to prosper. Up from 4.7% the year before, economic growth reached an average 5.3% in 2006, according to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Regulatory reform has also been successfully sculpting change in government policy towards a more business friendly climate in Eastern Europe, making it an even more attractive market for foreign businesses wishing to export, import, or invest there.
Why attend The New Europe?
