Headline: Aomori Sister State Visit - Working Level Delegation to Depart This Saturday! Body:
Portland,
Maine – The
Maine International Trade Center
has been working with the Maine-Aomori Sister State Advisory Council to
assemble a working level delegation that will be visiting Maine’s
Sister State of Aomori, Japan. The
delegation will participate in a variety of discussions regarding future
educational, cultural and governmental exchanges, as well as
possibilities for trade and commerce.
The
Maine International Trade Center
has teamed with art students from the Maine College of Art and the
University of Southern Maine’s Art Department to provide unique
“Maine” gifts to present to the dignitaries that the delegation will
be meeting with during the visit. The
Trade Center President, Richard J. Coyle, and Lewiston–Auburn Office
Director, Jacolyn E. Bailey, will be visiting many businesses,
educational institutions and associations, including the Aomori
Prefectural Aquaculture Research Center, Hachinohe Port Trade Center,
Aomori Public College, Aomori Central University, Aomori Advanced
Industrial Technology Center, Aomori Chamber of Commerce, Ornamentals
Experiment Station, the ASPAM Prefectural Center for Local Products
& Tourism, the Aomori Foundation for the Advancement of
International Relations, Michinoku Bank and Aomori Bank.
The
Maine International Trade Center working
with the Maine International Networking Service, has also connected with
Maine Alumni from Husson and Colby that are located in the Tokyo area
and will be meeting with them to explore opportunities for connecting
Maine and Japan businesses. The
Aomori Sister State Visit will occur from October 5 to October 16,
