Auburn Company Earns Export Achievement Award

Portland, ME - The Strainrite Companies, Inc. of Auburn will receive the Export Achievement Certificate in recognition of the company’s success in new international markets during the past year.  Grant Aldonas, U.S. Under Secretary of International Trade, will present the award on at a ceremony on October 9th at 2:30 pm at the company’s 65 First Flight Drive, Kittyhawk Industrial Park location in Auburn.

The Export Achievement Certificate was created to recognize small and medium-sized enterprises that have successfully entered the international marketplace for the first time or that have successfully entered a new market.  While Strainrite Companies has enjoyed long-term, growing exports to Western Europe, during the past year, the company has developed new markets in China and South Korea.

“We are very proud to congratulate Strainrite Companies – one of our members – on this achievement,” said Richard Coyle, President of the Maine International Trade Center.  “This recognition of successful development of new markets is an excellent example for other MITC members and all Maine companies looking for opportunities to grow their business globally.”

The company was nominated for the award by Jeffrey Porter, Director of the Maine Office of the United States & Foreign Commercial Service Office in Portland.

The Strainrite Companies, Inc. has manufacturing locations in Auburn, Maine and Pontiac, Michigan, as well as warehouse and distribution facilities in California. The sales & marketing team has personnel there as well as remote offices in MA, NJ, GA and TN.  Distributors are located throughout North America, as well as Europe and the Far East. Grant Aldonas was confirmed as Under Secretary for International Trade on May 10, 2001.  As head of the International Trade Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Mr. Aldonas is responsible for managing 2,400 International Trade Administration employees and advising the Secretary of Commerce on international trade issues.
