The Greater China Desk of the Maine International Trade Center was launched on September 22, 2005 to better facilitate access for Maine businesses to markets in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The Desk provides technical assistance, performs market research, identifies trade leads, and organizes Trade Missions. It also takes advantage of the China resources available through MITC’s affiliation with the Eastern Trade Council’s China Office and other federal agencies.
The Greater China Desk is headed by Stephen Franck, the Director of the MITC Lewiston/Auburn Regional Office. Stephen worked for a number of years in Taipei as an attorney in international trade law and foreign direct investment.
