Tory Atwell
Asia Desk Director and International Trade Specialist
Tory Atwell is the Trade Center’s Asia Desk Director and an International Trade Specialist. Originally from Yarmouth, Tory has recently returned to Maine after several years working in New York and overseas. She received her BA from Skidmore College with a dual major in Asian Studies and Theater. Following her graduation from college, Tory moved to Taiwan where she continued her studies of Chinese language and worked as an interpreter and teacher.
For the past several years, Tory has worked as a division and regional manager for a global communications firm, originally working from their headquarters in New York City. In 2006, she relocated to Hong Kong where she lived for several years managing and growing the company’s Asian Production division with responsibilities including offices in Singapore, Beijing, Tokyo, Sydney, and Dubai. Most recently, Tory was based in London working for the same company as a production division manager for their European markets.
Tory is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, speaks French and has extensive experience travelling throughout East and Southeast Asia as well as Western Europe.
