Industry representatives participated in over 75 matchmaking meetings while in Vancouver and Toronto. These sessions were organized by the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service and Faye Clack Communications, Canadian contractor to FoodExport USA.
The 2008 mission was successful on a number of fronts, with solid sales numbers as well as excellent potential R&D partnerships for life sciences and alternative (mainly wind and tidal) energy projects. Approximately 125 people attended the Toronto State of Maine reception, with good attendance from travel agents and writers who learned about the state's tourism assets. Finally, with the strong assistance of TD and SCL Canada, some 50 businesses from Greater Toronto came and learned about Maine's business climate.
