The delegation is comprised of representatives of six Maine high schools and universities.

A delegation comprised of representatives of six Maine high schools and universities is heading to a former Soviet republic in central Asia to recruit international students.  The Maine International Trade Center is leading the team that will visit Kazakhstan next month.

Six Maine schools to recruit students from Kazakhstan

Four Maine high schools and two Maine colleges hope to recruit students from a country that, so far, has not typically sent many young people to Maine: Kazakhstan. Husson University, Thomas College, Lee Academy, Lincoln Academy, Maine School of Science and Technology and Cheverus High School will send representatives on a recruiting trip to Kazakhstan, a former Soviet republic, organized by the Maine International Trade Center in September.

Maine Seeks to Strengthen Economic Ties with New Brunswick

Gov. Paul LePage hopes to encourage expanded economic ties with the province of New Brunswick through a memorandum of understanding signed today with Premier David Alward. The governor’s office says the agreement is designed to strengthen relations between both regions by identifying areas for future job creation and cooperation in trade development and tourism.
