MITC Job Opening – International Trade Specialist

Maine International Trade Center (MITC) is hiring an International Trade Specialist for our Portland, ME office.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of work experience, preferably in an entrepreneurial setting
  • Strong customer focus skills, including the ability to understand business owners’ needs and recommend resources and tools in a clear and efficient manner
  • Fundamental understanding of the differing needs of Maine’s rural and urban communities
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, including the ability to tailor communication methods to the audience

Responsibilities  include:

  • Serve as an account manager to meet the needs of MITC members and businesses looking to do business internationally
  • Provide export counseling and research tailored to client’s unique business needs in coordination with other staff and external resources
  • Identify and connect with businesses, entrepreneurs, and organizations statewide to support and promote international business opportunities
  • Promote the work of MITC and the various programs, tools, and resources available to Maine businesses looking to do business internationally
