About

Maine International Trade Center (MITC) is Maine’s leading source for international business assistance.

With an extensive network around the world, MITC helps Maine businesses expand international markets for their products and services, develops global partnerships to drive innovation, and attracts investment to fuel Maine’s economic growth.

A public-private partnership, MITC is supported financially by more than 200 businesses and organizations, corporate sponsors, and the Maine Department of Economic & Community Development (DECD).

MITC members include manufacturers, service providers, educational institutions, industry associations, and economic development partners located in all 16 Maine counties.

While our members support the organization through annual membership dues, MITC provides assistance to any Maine business whether members or non-members. We work with both exporters and importers.

MITC 30th Anniversary Commemorative Book

In August 2026, we celebrated MITC’s 30th anniversary! To commemorate this milestone, we compiled a digital book to honor the history, evolution, and impact of Maine’s international business development organization.

In the process, we were grateful and humbled to receive tributes from many businesses and partners. In addition, the book includes letters from Senator Angus King, Governor Janet Mills, past MITC Presidents Perry Newman and Janine Bisaillon Cary, founding MITC Board Chair Ward Graffam and Vice Chair Jeanne Hulit, and current MITC Board Chair Jason Lundy, as well as a complete list of our annual award winners and timeline of trade missions.
