MMTA was formed to promote growth, prosperity, and cooperation within the marine industry in Maine; to encourage and publicize educational opportunities leading to and furthering careers in the marine trades; and to encourage and assist in the development of best practices in the marine industry with a focus on the environment, and health and safety.

Maine Maritime Academy is a college specializing in ocean and marine-oriented programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with emphasis on engineering, transportation, management, and ocean sciences, as well as preparing officers for the uniformed services of the United States.

Maine Maritime Museum offers many opportunities to explore Maine’s maritime heritage and culture. Open year round, our 20-acre waterfront campus includes indoor galleries with rotating and permanent exhibits, the country’s only surviving historic wooden shipyard, a working boat shop, a Victorian shipbuilder’s home, and more!

Maine Molecular Quality Controls, Inc. (MMQCI) designs and markets molecular controls for use in inherited disease testing, infectious disease detection, and pharmacogenetics. As experts in quality assurance of laboratory medicine, MMQCI produces high caliber controls to monitor all phases of molecular testing as required by best practice and regulations.

Maine Office of Tourism promotes Maine as a tourism destination and works to support and expand the state’s tourism industry which benefits Maine citizens by protecting and creating jobs, boosting the state economy, and supporting amenities that both visitors and residents enjoy.

To improve the global competitiveness of Maine businesses, and in concert with public and private organizations, the Maine Port Authority will stimulate commerce by developing marine and rail facilities, and other viable endeavors in a responsible fashion, for the intermodal movement of people and cargo in support of economic development.

Maine PTAC is part of a nationwide network of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers. Maine PTAC’s experienced counselors provide a wide range of counseling services to assist Maine-based companies that are interested in selling their products and/or services to local, state or federal government agencies, either as prime contractors or subcontractors.

Maine Small Business Development Centers (Maine SBDC) provides comprehensive business management advice and education. We meet individually with business owners to address their concerns – from starting, managing and diversifying, to marketing, growing and financing their business – and offer workshops and seminars.

As the voice of ME Business, we represent a network of 5,000 businesses of all sectors, sizes, and regions. We advocate on their behalf daily before the Legislature, state departments, and various levels of state government. The Maine Technology Institute (MTI) is an industry-led, publicly-funded, nonprofit corporation that offers early-stage capital and commercialization assistance in the form of competitive grants, loans and equity investment for the research, development and application of technologies that create new products, processes and services, generating high-quality jobs.
