Mass timber commercialization gets boost at UMaine

The University of Maine’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center and Bowdoin College each received $100,000 grant from the U.S. Forest Service to promote research and construction of mass timber buildings on the campuses. Bowdoin plans to put the funds toward the construction of the Barry M. Hall and the Center for Arctic Studies. UMaine will use to funds to expand the Advanced Structures and Composites Center in Orono to prepare for the arrival of new equipment, the world’s largest 3D printer. Read More
