Jay Brenchick
Director of Economic Development
City of Auburn

Jay Brenchick, a native of Fryeburg, Maine, is an alumnus of the University of Maine and has served as the Director of Economic Development for the City of Auburn since December 2020. His career in economic development began as Director of the Film and Television Office for the State of New Hampshire, followed by economic development leadership roles in Florida and Virginia. Throughout his career, Jay has helped generate more than $380 million in business investment, strengthening the communities he has served. After valuable experiences working outside the state, Jay is pleased to be back in Maine, contributing to the growth and vitality of the place he has always considered home.

Auburn Manufacturing, Inc. (AMI) is a woman-owned small business founded by Kathie in 1979.  For over four decades, the company of approximately 60 people has been producing extreme heat- and fire-resistant textiles for industrial, defense, and institutional applications throughout the US and globally to over 30 countries. Currently, Kathie serves on the Board of Directors for The Elmet Group and Howell Laboratories.
